Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana (born 13 July 2007) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team.
Club career
In the opening matches of the 2024–25 La Liga season, Lamine Yamal provided an assist to Robert Lewandowski for Barcelona’s goal against Valencia. Later, Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot in the second half, securing a 2–1 victory for Barcelona.
International career
Lamine Yamal played a key role in Spain’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany. He made history as part of the squad that defeated England 2–1 in the final to win the championship.
At just 16 years old, Yamal received his first senior call-up on 1 September 2023 from manager Luis de la Fuente for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Cyprus. He made his debut against Georgia on 8 September 2023, scoring in the 74th minute of a 7–1 victory, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Spain’s history.
During the tournament, Yamal continued to impress. He scored a crucial goal in the 21st minute against France in the Euro 2024 semifinal, helping Spain secure a 2–1 win and advance to the final, where they ultimately lifted the trophy.
Style of play
Lamine Yamal is a left-footed forward known for his passing ability and creativity in generating scoring opportunities. Versatile in attack, he can operate as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder, or winger—most often on the right flank. From the right wing, he is particularly effective at cutting inside and curling shots towards goal.
